THE COMPANY: The Company is a leading Sporting Goods manufacturer, specializing in products geared toward the outdoor enthusiast and adventure traveler.  The Company has evolved into one of the largest outdoor gear suppliers in the United States.  With separate divisions, the company offers a diverse line of products such as: bags, packs and non-traditional luggage.  It has been ranked the tenth largest outdoor company in the U.S. by Sporting Goods Business.  Active in the industry for over 20 years, some of their memberships include the Outdoor Recreation Coalition of America (ORCA) and Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA).



POSITION OVERVIEW: The Vice President of International Sales will be responsible for the overall sales and direction of the company’s sales policies, objectives and initiatives (outside of the U.S.). This position is based from Corporate Headquarters in suburban Chicago, emphasizing efforts in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.






SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Establish corporate sales strategies / objectives and initiate implementation of plan to targeted markets

  • Participate as a team member on new product review and selection, specific to the International market needs

  • Assist in taking new products to various parts of the International market

  • Oversee the training and development of professional sales and distribution teams

  • Generate monthly and annual sales forecasts

  • Complete all required reports on time

  • Manage retail sales through Distribution network and all retail outlets

  • Manage and direct Sales force in the development of proposals for key accounts

  • Responsible for all International sales activity

  • Develop, manage and lead the sales personnel, including all HR issues

  • Develop and implement sales programs that are in alignment with the Corporate marketing plan

  • Develop and execute business plans for the International Sales forces and approved market segments




EXPERIENCE / SKILL SETS REQUIRED:




  • Experience in International sales management

  • Ability to monitor success and implement programs in response to the market

  • Ability to comprehend business needs and translate them into business initiatives

  • Broad technical and working knowledge in the sports products / Non-Traditional Sports Luggage marketplaces

  • Must have a sales background with Brand names in Outdoor Recreation / Sporting Goods / Adventure Gear

  • Demonstrated patience, diplomacy and ability to work under pressure

  • Minimum 5 years international Sales / Marketing experience

  • Accurate and detail oriented

  • International experience with an emphasis on Asia, Americas and European markets

  • Multi-lingual, a plus

  • Exposure to various International cultures

EDUCATION: 4 year degree required.  Professional Sales and Management training a plus.


COMPENSATION: Competitive salary; bonus and corporate Benefits package and culture, that should result in an anticipated first year total compensation of $150k – $200k.
